jenny's top 8 no. 7

jenny's top 8 no. 7

I stand behind every Top 8, but this Top 8 is so TOPS! It’s Fall in Los Angeles, which means it’s still kinda summer. I just spent my 47th birthday at Disneyland and I’m filled with gratitude for all the love in my life. I don’t know what will happen in the world, but I know that we will always need each other and gratitude. I often wake up in the morning and do an instant survey of what’s wrong, of my fears and failings. I started What I Loved to build the muscles of connection, beauty and appreciation in my own brain. Go ahead, give it a shot… what’s your top 8? ILY. HAPPY FALLing in love!

Alexis Smart Flower Remedies The first AS remedy that I fell in love with was Safe and Sound; it settled me in my skin. I am currently back on Ganesh as I take more steps toward creating my dream career. And I never fly without First Aid Kit!! I love that she has a non alcohol based option, because bluh. Pop on over the internet highway and heal what ails you!

Deszo charms by Sara Beltran available at Sunroom! I’m gonna say something crazy, and that is that this might be my favorite jewelry ever. I love all things ocean and all things gold, and nobody does that combination better than Deszo. I have never seen a piece that I didn’t drool over. I would like one of each please!!

Kyle Miller Yoga SHORTS! Sometime during Covid, while I was roaming the world wide web I came across Kyle Miller. I meant to take a zoom class, but ya know, never did. Then I randomly ordered some shorts one day and only wanted to wear them. I know I was supposed to do the yoga, but I did the shorts first. I fan girled her hard at a friend’s art opening and promised to take a class. Now I have six shorts so it’s probably time for at least one class!

SIP SNACK!!! One of my friends and I joke that you know you are getting older when you’re most excited to go to the grocery store every day on vacation. Well this excitement can be found at home too, that is if you have a Sip Snack nearby. LA is brimming with these little grocers and I love it, but this one is MY FAVORITE. I love the sardines, the gluten free pasta, and the cute little sour watermelon candies!

Vintage For People If you know me at all you know I love a vintage sweatshirt with embroidery and I LOVE HAWAII. I can’t say no to either. I first saw these hand stitched treasures at Acacia on Maui and had to have one! They are stitched with vintage thread as well! I custom ordered a HAOLE short sleeve sweatshirt that is everything. She also specializes in vintage Hawaii T’s and denim. There is no outfit better than perfect jeans and a t shirt AND a sweatshirt of course, IMO.

Angie McMahon It’s pure magic when a song comes into your life that perfectly expresses a way that you feel. Making it Through is one of those songs for me. EVERY SINGLE LINE. I fell absolutely in love with this artist the moment I first heard Just Like North. Go dance and sing loud. It’s really good for your nervous system!

My Grandfather’s Polaroid. I come from a family of photographers. My great grandfather Cecil had a photo studio in Maryland in the early 1920’s. I inherited a hodge podge of cameras and I have finally gotten around to using them. This polaroid is my absolute favorite. I was a photographer for years and I put it aside when I went to graduate school; this camera feels like my way back and I Love it. Sometimes they have them at Eagle Rock Camera & Goods, which is great just FYI.

The Well Studio in Pasadena I was looking for some lymphatic drainage in Los Angeles when my friend suggested The Well. She hadn’t been there, but it had been highly recommended. I went home and instantly made an appointment, WYKYK! I had never heard of or experienced the Icoone machine from Italy and let me tell you… it’s glorious! This treatment feels equal parts effective and relaxing. I wish I was there right now. I see MaKenna and she is so passionate about all of it!
