Where were you raised? Has the landscape of that place influenced your work in any way?
I was raised in Northwest Connecticut. The landscape has shaped who I am - therefore informs all of my decisions and choices. The fiery brightness of fall, the dark greys of winter, the bursting buzzing summers - all of it gives me life and reminds me of my small place on the earth. I call on it often when I need to ground myself in my work and tune out the bullshit.
How do you recharge your creative battery?
I see as much theater as I can. Also walking for hours in New York is vital for me. It feeds my soul.
What book are you reading?
War and Peace.
What was the last thing that you fell in love with?
Myself
What do you love most about yourself?
My compassion, my ability to make people laugh and my intuition.
What do you think is the most important quality in a human?
Kindness.
Do you have a spiritual practice?
I don't, but have found deep breathing with a mantra and routine exercise the closest to God I will ever come.
Who are your role models?
All of my girlfriends.
If you could change one thing about our world, what would it be? Is there a individual or an organization doing work in this area that you want us to know about?
Any answer feels clichè, but fuck it. I would eliminate greed. And social media.
Before I die I want to…
Leave behind something meaningful to the world. Perfect a pork roast. Finish The Wire.
