I always start my day with…
A cup of coffee, whatever I have on hand, nothing fancy or fancy but it’s my ritual no matter what! I always light incense by river in frankincense first thing. It reminds me I’m alive. It’s Divine.
Where were you raised? Has the landscape of that place influenced your work in any way?
I was raised on the beach in Central California in a very small down Called Cayucos, one stop light, one school, one grocery shop, one gas station right on the beach! Right below Big Sur, I have always lived by the ocean. I Now live on Kauai, and absolutely where I live influences my work and even where my shop is, reminds me where I grew up in the small little town. So comforting for me. Being by the ocean is how I connect with my parents whom I’ve lost. My work is for them.
What was the last thing you fell in love with?
With myself and how far I have come from losing my parents at such a young age. And, also this really cozy sweater in Iris by American Vintage! Lol
We have 24 hours in your city… one recommendation.
Lets say it’s a very nice day out! My recommendation without a doubt is hit Tunnels beach on the North Shore and hang there all day on the beach with a lunch and of course an iced coffee!
What do you love most about yourself?
I love that I have the ability to ask weird & deep questions with people and get peoples life stories that often end in tears. I can get details from people , no problem. Being a triple Scorpio is my favorite.
What did you do for your last birthday?
For my last birthday, I turned 41 and I went swimming at tunnels, and then I can’t remember what else. But that would be enough for me.
What book are you reading?
I am currently reading, “animal” by, Lisa Taddeo -Animal explores themes of loss, separation, anxiety, depression, lust & rage.
If you could click your heels and be anywhere, where would it be?
If I could click my heels, I would be in Greece with my Daughter Punkie and My baby Daddy Darcy , staying in a villa on the rocky coast along the Agean sea eating the most insane Mediterranean food, and swimming all day in the sun.
How do you recharge your creative battery?
I recharge my creativity, by jumping in the ocean and calming down, sitting in the sun and getting quiet, colors, patterns and ideas always come to me. The water really helps me get grounded and present. And then I can flow into some sort of creativity, I never know what it will look like.
What’s on your Bucket List.
To own a home on Kauai, with a unit for family and friends and a big pool with tropical landscape, that is something I didn’t grow up with, and would love to have a space to offer for people that I know and love. I want a Giant colorful bonkers house, with an all pink tile bathroom, purple carpet, mid century kitchen, red and white stripe walls, sunken sitting areas. We gonna go off!
